Morphe Store Haul!

Morphe Store Haul!

I am so excited for this post! My cousin Brittany introduced this company called Morphe to me a while ago and we never had a chance to go until now. This is a makeup store located in Burbank, Ca. They have great prices for great quality makeup and tools. Now that I am starting to get more into makeup, I was so ready to check this place out. If you don’t have me on Instagram then you missed my haul post. Well don’t worry! I am going to post all about it and everything that I got here.

This is everything that I got here at the store. Trust me, I wanted to buy so much more. I had to have some kind of self control. I got all of this for $98.00. How awesome is that? Let me walk you through everything that I purchased!

Eyeshadow

Here is the eyeshadow palette that I got. This is the 350 Nature Glow Eyeshadow Palette. It retails for $23.00 and have 35 colors. Isn’t that just insane? There is amazing pigment to all of these colors and I have enjoyed thoroughly using it so far. I highly recommend their shadows. You can also build your own palette.  Its great quality for an amazing price. I can’t wait to get more! Which I had to get this separate color called Coffee & Drama. Brittany and both got one because when we swatched it, it was beautiful! It pigmented so well and was just perfect. This was $6.00 and worth every dollar.

Setting Powder

I also got this setting powder in the color banana which I found in the line to checkout. I am so happy I grabbed this because it is a definite must now when I get ready. It makes me makeup last so much longer. I can get oily at times or when I am at work, since I am a server, I can work up a little bit of a sweat. This makes me matte all day long. This item retails for $9.00.

Makeup Brushes

Here is my favorite part. I have been in need for brushes so badly. I wish the brush on the left matched the rest of them, but its okay. I desperately needed a highlighting brush. It retails for $7.00 and is amazingly soft. I love how my highlight looks with this brush! Next is the set of brushes. There is nothing I love more than the rose gold color right now. It’s my color for sure. This is Set 707 the Copper Dreams Brush Set. Its is perfect for everything I need. I use the larger brush for the setting powder I got and all of the eyeshadow brushes for my new eyeshadow palette. It has everything I was missing out of my brush collection. Im in love with how the brushes work. They are all so soft. I highly recommend them.

I absolutely loved this store. Brittany and I had such a fun girls day. We also drove all the way up to the Camarillo Outlets to hit the Lulu Lemon store. I got my first pair! I love them so much! They are a cute plum color definitely went out of my comfort zone in getting the plum color, but I am obsessed with them!

If you have the time definitely check this store out. It is worth the trip! I also found the cutest makeup bags from Bloomingdales outlet. Im obsessed with them. I hope you have enjoyed this post. Let me know what you think! Please follow me on Instagram and Facebook to keep updated with me and all my adventures. Love you all! xoxo

Now I will add that when I opened this up it smelled absolutely amazing! I couldn’t wait to see all of these products. Okay now lets dive into the box!

Pictured on the left is just an overview of everything in the box. On the right is the first product which is PoreDermabrasion by dr. brandt. This palette retails for $28.00.

The last product is what smelled so good when I opened this box. It is Body Wash infused buffer by SpongelléThis is supposed to exfoliate and cleanse your body at the same time! It smells so good and leaves your skin so soft! I am seriously in love with this product. If you don’t get a starter box at least go out and get yourself one of these. Backstreet Boys Las Vegas Trip – Day Two

Backstreet Boys Las Vegas Trip – Day Two

Hey everyone! Day two post is here! We left off the first day exhausted, but woke up the second day refreshed and ready to seize the day! We woke up this morning and began to get ready for the day. We really love The Ellis Island Hotel and Casino so we decided we would go there for breakfast. It is a must stop when in Las Vegas for us. Its off the strip, but not far at all! Before we headed over there, we went over to The Cosmopolitan again to gamble some more. After we did that we went and caught a Lyft over to Ellis Island. If you don’t have Lyft, it is a must for Las Vegas. You don’t have to worry about driving and it is so much cheaper than a taxi. We ordered a shared Lyft. This means if there is anyone on the same route, or near you, can ride together and the fare is a lot cheaper. Sometimes you will get lucky and no one will be in the car with you. We were those lucky people! The total for our Lyft was $6.27 with tip! How awesome is that?

Ellis Island Village Pub & Cafe

I’ll be straight the point, the food is cheap and it is good here. I do have to say I believe they changed this place some. The food was cheaper and different from what it was this time when we tried it. Chris and I got the steak and eggs. It was very good. I definitely recommend it! I normally have the Chicken Fried Steak, but I wasn’t feeling it this time, so I decide to try the steak and eggs for the first time. For the two of us to eat here the total was $29.96. The service is always great here and we get our food quickly and always correctly. We usually like to make this a must do place when we are in town! After this we walked back to the hotel because why not? It is Las Vegas after all and walking is a must.

The Pleasure Pool

I have been wanting to go to a pool party for a while, but seeing as we didn’t have enough time, we just decided to go to the hotel pool. It wasn’t a pool party, but it was fun. We weren’t there for long at all. We stayed for about 30 minutes. It was hot and the pool was very cold. It took a while for me to ease into it and eventually I did! We didn’t get anything to drink because they were out of my beer choices so we decided to just hang out for a while. We met a girl who was also going to the concert and we got to talking with her about our plans for dinner and what not. She was incredibly nice and it was great talking to her. There was also a DJ and he was pretty good. I actually enjoyed it. The pool wasn’t super packed, but it was a thursday so we couldn’t expect it to be that busy. It was actually better that way. I enjoyed the pool time, but I knew we had to hurry because we had dinner reservations at 6:15pm. So we headed back up to our room to get ready for the big night!

Hex Bar + Kitchen

I have to admit I am so excited to write about this. I’m sure you can tell by now that Chris and I are all about the deals. I am not sure if you have heard of Travelzoo, but boy do they have some good deals on there! Before we left for this trip, Chris found a coupon for this place called Hex Bar + Kitchen. We immediately took to Yelp to look at pictures of food and reviews. We knew we had to try it for ourselves. We ended up getting the Travelzoo coupon. It was $69.00 for dinner for two and the regular price was $144.00. Isn’t that crazy? Now let me tell you something about this food: it was phenomenal, and I am obsessed with this place. With this Travelzoo coupon, you get one appetizer. We decided to get the Cheese and Charcuterie (first picture on the left) which is different cured meats, cheeses, and a giant pretzel. Holy cow, I loved that pretzel. I was eating it all throughout dinner. You also get either two soups or two salads. Since I am a caesar girl, we decided to go with the Caesar salads. It is my favorite, so believe me when I say I cleaned that bowl right up! Next up was the entree. We each were able to get an entree up to $38.95, which covers and entree on the menu. We could have gotten filet mignon, but we knew we wouldn’t be eating for the rest of the night, so we wanted to have a little more protein to fill us up. So we both ended up ordering the New York Steak. We also ordered a side of asparagus because the steak comes alone. This was too good. I loved every bite of that steak and asparagus. Lastly, you get a dessert to share. If you go, get the Ecuadorian Brownie. I dream about this dessert. Sometimes I can still taste it. It comes with coffee ice cream placed right on top of the brownie. So good! Chris and I bring up this dessert all the time. It is just that good! I honestly recommend this place, but definitely think about getting the Travelzoo if it is still available.

Backstreet Boys

Backstreets back, alright! I have been waiting for this for a long time. Now I love me some Backstreet Boys so when I found out about their residency, I was stoked! I knew we had to go. Chris and I found some resale tickets a while before the concert date. Poor girl couldn’t make it out anymore. Lucky us, we got a good deal. We sat in section 203 row A seat 1 and 2. This was the front row of our section. It was perfect. While we were sitting waiting for it to start, the venue put on what was like a montage of old music, with new music, that included music video clips and pictures. Looking back on those clips was crazy. I was getting so impatient waiting for them to come on. We each got our drinks and we’re ready for the show. Chris had to get a margarita just so that I get get a souvenir cup, but he didn’t mind at all. Speaking of souvenirs, below are pictures of the cup, a tank top, and a jacket that I got. What can I say, I love my boys. This concert was so great. Everything about it just blew me away. Especially getting serenaded to by Brian. He held my hand and everything. This was so crazy. I will post the video to the Facebook page! How insane is that? I had no idea this was going to happen. I am so grateful it did though. This was such an amazing night and I could not have picked anyone better to experience this with.

Pin Up Pizza

After we left the concert we walked the strip a little. We ended up getting really tired, but we were a little hungry. We decided to try Pin Up Pizza that is outside of Planet Hollywood Hotel. We each got a piece of pizza. We overestimated our hunger for sure. We both only ate half of our slices because they were huge! They were delicious though. We knocked out after this. We were full, exhausted, and filled with joy. It was time for bed.

Las Vegas, we’re out!

We woke up this morning happy and not ready to go home. We packed up and headed out. First, we had breakfast. We stopped at Earl of Sandwich in our hotel. I have never had their breakfast before, so I was looking forward to it. We both had the Ham, Egg & Cheddar sandwich and it was really good. Sadly, it was time to head out. We had to be home by a certain time for something very exciting later in the day. I will add, we totally stopped at Alien fresh jerky again on the way home. I could not resist.

Jenn’s High School Graduation

This is it! Jenn graduated. Chris and I made it just in time. I got ready in the car and we headed straight for the graduation. I have been around this beautiful girl for over two and a half years now. I have watched her do homework and go to so many school events. She worked so hard for this. I am so happy that I got to be apart of such an amazing moment in her life. I cannot wait to see all the amazing things she does in her life. I love you like a sister, Jenn. You are incredibly smart, so beautiful, and very wise. Thank you for letting me apart of this and thank you for always hanging out with me for girls days!

My Story

My Story

I just wanted to share a little bit of my background, so you all have a better understanding of who I am. I have been through a lot for only being 23 years old. Let me take you on a little bit of a journey.

I had such a great childhood, I had friends, and I had a great family. Adventures with my family and friends were my favorite things. I was a very happy person. I had everything. That was until, my mom got sick. My mom was diagnosed with cancer. I don’t really want to go into detail about how I found out and everything we went through, but I do want to explain how I felt and how I still feel. When I was 10 years old, my mom passed due to cancer. I remember being woken up at 2 o’clock in the morning by my dad telling me that she is gone. I cried and I cried as family and close friends started showing up not too long after. After so much crying, the ambulance was here to pick up my mom, and I ran to my bedroom. I could not see them take her away because it was too real for me. I refused to say goodbye and this has become one of my biggest regrets to this day. After this night, I became numb. I didn’t want to move out of bed, go to school, or do anything. I think I lost a sense of who I was. I was so dependent on my mom and I didn’t know how I was going to get through life without her. Before she got sick she did everything a mom would do for her daughter. She washed my hair, did my hair, got me ready, reminded me brush my teeth, etc. She did everything for me. I didn’t know how to even put my hair into a pony tail, so I had to teach myself how to do it all. Honestly, it wasn’t easy. I was a ten year old little girl and I had to learn everything on my own. I had to figure it out life on my own. My dad didn’t really know what to do with a little girl, so I became a very independent person. It has changed me completely. I have a need to do everything on my own and if I can’t, I become very frustrated. In anything I do, it has to be me who does it and it has to be right. I believe going through this especially at such a young age, traumatized me. My mom was my best friend. She was my world. After she passed, my family kind of fell apart. We all stopped talking to each other. I think my brothers have a hard time looking at me sometimes because I look like her. I will be honest, when my mom died, my dad spoiled me. I think he didn’t know what else to do so he would just buy me things. I think my brothers resent me for that. Which I completely understand. But I don’t think they understood how bad it hurts when your dad doesn’t know what to do with you so he just buys you things hoping it makes you happy when all you need is a dad that loves you and pays attention to you. Losing my mom is one of the things that makes me who I am to this day. Since I had to teach myself everything and all I had around me were 2 brothers and a dad. I liked to wear my cargo shorts, DC shoes and my tank tops. I wanted to be like the boys and it was the easiest thing to do. I didn’t know how to do anything other than a pony tail, no makeup at all. I was a tom boy for sure. (Which brings me to another adventure of mine that I am going to start working on is beauty and hair. I am going to start learning about it all and try and share my experiences with you all.) I still have really hard days where i struggle about losing my mom. I just wish I had her still. I would honestly be so much more of a different person if she were still here. There is not a day that goes by where I do not think about her and miss her.

After my mom died, I struggled with depression and anxiety a lot. I didn’t know how to deal with all the emotions I had inside. Sometimes I still don’t. I was on quite a few medications at the time while I struggled and was unhappy. The feelings I had were nothing compared to how much worse I was about to feel.

A few years after my mom passed, my dad got remarried. Our world was flipped upside down. Im not going to sit here and talk about the bad things that were done to my brothers and I because its very private, but it was not good. My family was taken advantage of, hurt, and destroyed. I will not talk bad about people, but I will say I am happy that my family is out of that situation. My personal experience with them is horrible. I was a prisoner in my own home. I have never felt so unwanted, violated, and used ever in my life. When this all ended, I have never hit such a low point in my life. I can remember everything I have been through moment by moment. But, just like losing my mom, it has made me who I am. I am so much stronger and tougher now.

Where I am at right now in my life, I still struggle with anxiety and depression. I have come to terms that I always will, for the rest of my life. I am proud of who I am and who I am becoming. Everyday I work on myself to become the best version of me to contintue to make my mom proud. One day I will have my own success story. My own triumph. I look forward to that day. Until then, I have started something new to help me with my anxiety and depression and it actually also helps me with my body issues as well. I’ve joined a bootcamp! There will be a post about this very soon and I can’t wait to share it with you!

Backstreet Boys Las Vegas Trip – Day One

Backstreet Boys Las Vegas Trip – Day One

So this is a very exciting post for me. Chris and I went to Vegas to see the Backstreet Boys and boy was this trip the best! This post I will give you all the details. From everything we did, to prices, deals and more! I have been looking forward to this vacation for a long time. I’m so ready to tell you all about it.

Rock a Hoola

Wednesday morning we got up around 5:30 in the morning. Chris, by now, is an Avid car packer. He can make it all fit. It’s a puzzle for sure and we aren’t exactly light packers. We left a little before six in the morning. Stopped to fill up gas because I forgot to do that the day before; I’ll be honest. Then we set off for our trip. We did not eat breakfast. Which is very rare for us, but you’ll see why very soon! Chris and I have been to Vegas seven or eight times now and we have have passed this abandoned water park 14-16 times. I don’t know if it’s instinct, but every time I’m sleeping on the way to Vegas, or on the way home, I just happen to wake up when we are about to pass this abounded water park. I thought why not visit this place? This abounded water park was last called Rock a Hoola Water park. A water park in the middle of the Mojave desert? I could see it making sense and not making sense in my head. A little history about this place, it was originally opened as Lake Delores in the 50s or 60s. It ended up being sold and reopened in 1988 with a 50s theme and called Rock a Hoola. Long story short the water park had a lot of financial problems and was headed towards bankruptcy. Then an incident that left an employee paralyzed cost them $4.4 million in a law suit which forced the waterpark to go bankrupt. The park then was sold again and opened as the Discovery Waterpark in 2002 until 2004. After that the waterpark was then left abandoned. In my head I thought it would be so much fun to check out. It’s been tagged so there is a lot of cool art and what not. Honestly it was very sketchy. I am pretty sure every worst possible scenario played in my head. I’m sure it did for Chris too. Chris literally said to me “I better not see a dead body Leslie!” I agreed with him. We walked around for maybe fifteen minutes and then decided to leave. I had so much anxiety with this my chest started to hurt. That’s how I knew it was time to go. When we arrived the entrance was blocked. They had it blocked with a log and boulders. We walked through what I am assuming would have been the parking lot. There was a large billboard with what would have had the original welcome sign. Then you walk on a pathway of smaller billboards that some have been painted over and some are just falling apart. After that you will continue on to walk through a couple buildings before you get to the main entrance (pictured above). We ended up taking a few pictures with some artwork we enjoyed. It just so happens that most of the artwork has aliens in it. Then we walked up to what was the main gate. This is very run down and highly tagged and stickered just like this whole place, but there was definitely its own beauty to it. After this we walked a little further and saw the posts that used to hold up the old slides, the spot where the slide that left the employee injured, the food stand, and even where the lazy river was. This place is obviously really trashed since its so accessible to anyone driving down the highway. Chris and I didn’t get too far before we decided to leave. I’ll be honest, it was because we were scared. We started to hear things creak and move. It was honestly probably due to wind, but we weren’t chancing it! We decided it was time to head out and onto the next place on our checklist for the day.

Alien Fresh Jerky

Next stop was Baker! I’ve heard, although expensive, the Alien jerky was really good! We decided to try it out of ourself! We are very basic people and got the Road Kill Original Beef Jerky. We didn’t eat this until later because we didn’t want to spoil our lunch! Keep in mind it is about 9:30am and we still haven’t eaten yet. I think I set a record! This place is currently under construction and I look forward to seeing what it looks like when it’s done! It’s definitely a place to stop and see!  In the picture above, there is the sign outside along with the sign at the end of our parking spot. I love this sign. It’s so fun and really gives you the experience. There is also this car outside that we parked right next to. Inside are four green aliens carpooling. Its so cute and fun. I enjoyed seeing a family, with two little boys, fascinated with this vehicle full of aliens. I honestly was worried one might move when looking into it. We took photos outside with some of our favorite aliens. Inside is an alien on a bench you can take pictures with. I call him my boyfriend. I made sure we went in to see him, and also to get some jerky! We like to think we are super adventurous when it comes to food, but we always end up going back to the basics of what we like. We got the Road Kill Original Beef Jerky. It was really good! I ate it every time we were in the hotel room on this trip and I even asked Chris to stop on the way home so we can get more! I’ll be honest though the first bag we got was a lot better than the second.

Seven Magic Mountains

After Baker, we decided to skip State Line and go to Seven Magic Mountains which is an art installation by Ugo Rondinone. It opened in May of 2016 and consists of seven really tall towers of boulders in the middle of the desert. Each of the boulders weigh anywhere from 20-25 tons! It’s right off the freeway, but so bright and colorful you can’t miss it! Its so cool to see and usually has a good crowd of people. With how bright they are, I am not sure how anyone could skip this. We decided to take some fun photos while we were here. This is definitely a must see, but hurry and see it soon it will only be around for two years!

We then went to the Las Vegas South Premium Outlets to get my dad a Father’s Day gift. My dad is a big dude so he loves the store Big Dogs because they make comfortable shirts for him. It was a quick stop just to this store before we moved onto the next place. You will definitely want to see where we went next!

Las Vegas Advisor

Chris found this coupon book online.  Its called the Las Vegas Advisor. It is full of coupons from 2 for 1 meals to freeplay at a casino! You can check out all of the discounts here. If you go to the place to pick one up then it is $37.00. I honestly feel like it is worth the money. Chris and I have quite a few Las Vegas trips planned this year and we will be using this for sure. I know in September when we go back for the Life is Beautiful festival, we will be using the free play a lot because it is mostly at downtown casinos. There are a lot of options on the strip as well. Make sure you check it out before you go on your trip. One thing I want to add is that the building you wouldn’t expect to be the place to go. It is a little sketchy, but inside is very nice!

Feast Buffet at Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa

Finally! Time to eat. By this time, I was starving. I was ready to eat and wanted to eat right away! Let me start off with this Resort is way off the strip, but worth the drive. The mountains on the ride there are absolutely beautiful. The resort itself is really nice as well. This is definitely one of those hotels that the older people go to so they can get the Las Vegas vacation without the hustle and bustle of the strip. I am pretty sure that we were the youngest people there besides the kids who had no choice. When we arrived here, Chris signed up for a Boarding Pass, which is their rewards membership. After he signed up, he got to play a game on a kiosk called Crack the Vault. You select a vault to open and inside has points. Chris won the most points, which was 5,000, that he can possibly use in the future. Another perk to the Boarding Pass is a discount on the buffet! So we went to the buffet with Chris’s Boarding Pass and the Las Vegas Advisor two for one coupon in hand. The grand total for the two of us was $11.90. How insane is that? This buffet has the usual variety from American to Mexican to Asian etc. Everything we tried was really good! I am definitely a fan of this buffet. I think if you are willing to drive a little off the strip, then definitely check it out. We ate majority of everything from this buffet. I honestly could not say anything bad about this buffet. Even our waitress was ontop of it! When we would leave our table to get more food, the waitress always refilled our drinks and cleaned off our table from the plates we just used. I need to get better at noting our servers names, so I can include them. Especially since most of them are so great! Seriously go try this buffet!

After the buffet we went to the Las Vegas North Premium Outlets which is our go to outlet. I love outdoor outlets and this one has a better selection of stores in my opinion. We did our usual shopping and then headed out. Our next stop was Costco for “Vegas gas.” That is what I like to call the gas we use to get around in Las Vegas. We ended up not driving anywhere so it ended up just being used to get home.

Planet Hollywood Check-in

Chris and I arrived at Planet Hollywood Resort through the underground parking. We like to valet the car because Chris is a Platinum Total Rewards Member, meaning we get free valet. If it is free why not, right? We also like to valet the car so we can take advantage of the bell hop. We do not exactly pack lightly so it is very nice, and convenient, to have a bell hop bring up our belongings to our room. This is my first time staying here at Planet Hollywood Resort so I was extremely excited. Another perk of Chris being a Platinum member, is the separate check-in line! This was so nice because we only waited about 2 minutes before it was our turn to go to the front desk. We noticed there was a separate desk clerk off to the side so we assumed that it was the clerk for platinum members. However we got pulled to the other side where everyone else was checking in to a clerk who didn’t seem too happy. He hardly made any eye contact with us. We were hoping to ask him if there were any upgrades available, but he quickly turned us away with our keys. When we went up to the room, we noticed it was recently renovated. It is very nice, but we were incredibly disappointed with the view. We tried calling the front desk and we were told that there was nothing available and they do not provide upgrades. We were little disappointed, but we had to make the most of it! We then called up the bellman to bring up our luggage and it took a while to get our luggage, but I can understand, it was check in time! When we finally got our luggage we usually unpack. We didn’t really unpack much, just our beer pong table and our ice chest. Chris’s tip: take your ice chest to the ice maker along with the ice bucket to fill it up. Our room had a mini fridge so we filled that up with water and a couple beers. So awhile ago Chris ordered a custom beer pong table. We are big Anaheim Ducks fans so of course that is the theme! I believe that is all we unpacked. This trip we lived out of our suitcases instead of fully unpacking. The room and bathroom were nicely renovated. I love that the bathroom has a separate room with the toilet. Makes it easier when I have to get ready and Chris is in the bathroom or vice versa. After we settled in, I told Chris to wake me up in twenty minutes. Two hours later I woke up. I felt so bad that I napped for that long. I then got up and ready for a night out!

Ketchup Premium Burger Bar

After we got ready, we decided to go downstairs to walk around and check things out. After the outlets and my nap, we worked up an appetite. We went on a trip to Las Vegas a while ago and bought a Groupon for Ketchup Premium Burger Bar. I don’t know if any of you have Groupon, but if you don’t, get it. Chris could tell you how much he loves Groupon. Before we go anywhere on a trip he tries to find something on Groupon. So seeing as we bought them a long time ago, they were expired coupons. When a Groupon is expired you can sometimes use the amount you paid at the location for the Groupon. Since Chris and I had $11 each with the expired Groupon, we decided we would have dinner here. The menu was full of different burgers and food items. It didn’t take us long before we decided on what we wanted. Pictured above are the burgers that we ordered. Pictured on the left, is the Burger of the Month, the California Burger. My favorite part about it was the avocado! I LOVE avocado. Add some thousand island (which runs through my veins by the way) and ketchup and I’ll be set. Chris ordered the “Morning Glory” Burger which had cheese, bacon, egg, and hash brown! I took a bite of this and boy was it good too! When we order at places we always get one drink if there is a soda fountain to save money. If we can refill it then why not save the money right? Chris bought the drink, I bought the side of fries. The side of fries was huge! Notice the name of the place is called Ketchup Premium Burger Bar. They have a bar of ketchup! All different kinds of ketchup. I was not very adventurous with this at all I stuck with my thousand island and regular ketchup. I know, I know I am boring! Chris however, got chipotle ketchup which was that bad at all! I need to explore more and try more. No one will want to read my blog if I don’t explore more! The people working here were so nice! They were very helpful with every request we had. Even when they had to deal with our expired Groupons. I want to say thank you to the ladies working that night. You are awesome!

We decided to walk to the Flamingo hotel to pick up a gift. The night before we left for Las Vegas, I was packing and my 1 year, 6 month old niece came into my room. I asked her if she wanted a Flamingo from Las Vegas and she replied with “yeah!” Flamingos are her favorite animal by the way. Since I promised I would get her one we set out to none other than the Flamingo Hotel to get her one.  After that we gambled a little at the Linq Hotel and then eventually crossed Las Vegas Blvd, walk down the strip a bit, and then ended up as the Cosmopolitan hotel.

Verbena

Next up, Verbena! What is Verbena you ask? Well head over to The Cosmopolitan hotel and order yourself one. So this drink we heard about from Chris’s cousin. Apparently it is supposed to numb your mouth. Ive been wanting to try this since I heard about it. We marched our way over to The Cosmopolitan hotel to the Chandeleir bar to give it a try for ourselves. We ordered it as the “mouth numbing drink.” Let me tell you something, Im not a cheapskate, but $32 for two drinks? That was crazy for me. But I know I am in Las Vegas and it was apart of the territory. So the directions for this drink are : sip, eat, sip. When I say eat, there is a little flower in the drink. So first take a little sip of the drink, then take the little flower out and eat it whole, then sip the rest of the drink. When you start eating the flower, you start to feel tingly in your mouth. Then the tingling grows. I am not a fan of tequila, so I had a really hard time drinking this drink. I stopped drinking it after a few sips. I just couldn’t do it. I think I was being a big baby and said I couldn’t finish it. I honestly could have. I should have got the full experience. My mouth was numb for about fifteen to twenty minutes. I think it was different, and if you don’t mind tequila then definitely go give this a try!

After we went to try these drinks we gambled a little bit at this hotel before we decided to head back to our hotel for bed. We had a very long day, but a very exciting one! Below are pictures of our room! If you want to see more pictures from our Las Vegas Trip head to my Instagram and Facebook page to see them!I hope you enjoyed reading this post and check out some of the places we did. I cannot wait to share everything we did on day two of our trip. Including our night with the Backstreet Boys! See you soon!

A Sweet Night!

A Sweet Night!

Well last night was a fun night full of sweets! I went out with Jenn, Chris’s sister, and his mom Sandra. We went to the Anaheim Packing District and we honestly did not know where to start! This was the first time I have ever been to have dessert. I was really excited! So let’s start with a little history about the Anaheim Packing District. This beautiful building was built in 1919 and originally named the Anaheim Citrus Packing House. Back then the Packing House was used for washing, grading, packing, and shipping out citrus. Since it has been restored, its now used as a place to eat, hang out, and even enjoy music. It was beautifully restored to be what it is today and is always busy. It is full of different foods and desserts so there are so many different places to eat! I could spend hours here! When we arrived we decided to valet because it was only three dollars and way quicker than trying to find parking. This place is always very busy so I would rather spend the three dollars. The valet staff was awesome and so very nice!

First we did a lap. The only way to tell what we want is to look at all of our options right? Let me tell you a secret, there are a lot and I mean A LOT of options. After we did our lap, we didn’t even know where to begin! We had to make a game plan. Then we decided to start off with Mini Monster. I love boba and strawberry lemonade and this place put them together! How awesome is that? I ended up getting my drink in the cutest little glass lightbulb cup and so did Jenn! The best part about the cups is that they are reusable so we can take it back and they will fill it! I ordered the Strawberry Lemonade with boba and Jenn ordered the Sunset Strawberry Lemonade with the Cotton Candy cloud. We loved it! Next time, I will definitely be ordering the one Jenn got. It has a little something extra in it to give it more flavor. That is what you are seeing on the right picture below. Its like a blueish purple. We both really enjoyed our drinks. I am excited to go and try something else new!

After we got our drinks we went to I Am, which is a shaved snow and smoothie place. We did not go there for either of those things. We saw people with smoke coming out of their mouths and our eyes lit up! Whatever it was, we had to try it. Turns out they were Snow Balls, which are rice balls infused with liquid nitrogen! So when you chew it, out comes smoke! It was definitely a cool experience. I definitely enjoyed it. I know we all had fun with it. The smoke kept coming out of my nose which also killed Sandra. She thought it was so funny!

Next we headed downstairs to Vitaly which had gelato! They had the cutest thing ever where you can get a flight of gelato. A FLIGHT!! How cute is that? You choose 5 different flavors and they come in the cutest little cones and mini spoons. We got Tiramisu, Oreo, Salted Caramel, Chocolate, and Vanilla. I did not have the Salted Caramel because I am not a fan of caramel flavored things. The only time you will ever see me have anything to do with caramel is  when I am dipping apples into it. The chocolate was pretty good, but very rich. It’s actually dark chocolate. The Vanilla and Oreo tasted very similar, but they were still good! I thought it was delicious gelato and adorable presentation.

Last, but certainly not least, we went back upstairs to Pandor Bakery. We couldn’t have a night of sweets without macaroons! We ended up getting one for each of us. We got 2 Rosé and a Coffee for Sandra. There were no complaints from us! I definitely want to go back and try so much more from here. They had a ton of yummy looking pastries, macaroons, and so much more!

It was overall a fun night. I loved that we got little items and were able to share. That way it wasn’t as expensive and we got to try way more! I will definitely head back to try more food from this place. If you are visiting Orange County I definitely recommend this place. Not only does it have so many options to try, but it has a little bit of history to go along with it. It fun for the whole family and I guarantee there is something here for everyone! If you haven’t already please check out my Facebook and my Instagram for more of what I am doing. I hope you have enjoyed this post and will try out the Anaheim Packing District for yourself!

Everyone meet Jenn! She is the best and I know you’ll be seeing more of her in my posts. Also, I want to say Congratulations on graduating from high school! I am so proud of you and can’t wait to try out more things with you!

Universal Studios Hollywood

Universal Studios Hollywood

So Chris and I have Universal Studios Hollywood annual passes and they expire soon! So just in case we don’t get another pass, we decide to spend our day off in Los Angeles. Now, we originally planned on getting there at opening, but you know, I took forever to get ready that morning. I’ll admit it. No shame. We ended up getting to universal around noon. We went straight to The Walking Dead Attraction. I was very nervous. My anxiety was running high, no doubt. We love the TV show. So this was also very exciting for us. I had to ask before going in if they can touch you. For those of you worried like I was, have no fear! They cannot touch you and it’s very recommended that you don’t touch them. The attraction was good. Almost like going to Knott’s Scary Farm and walking through one of their mazes. I have definitely been through better mazes though. I have to admit it did feel like I was kind of in the show. After this, we ended up walking around and going through the shops. On our way to Hogsmead, we found a mummy! Of course, I stopped to take a picture with him! He was a little scary and I think he could tell that I was easily scared.

I’ll be honest, I really want an interactive wand! Now don’t judge me, but I hadn’t seen all of the Harry Potter movies until last year. Hey! The Dementors scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. So we went around looking, I couldn’t make a decision so I decided to get my wand another time. However, I almost bought another chocolate frog because those things are GOOD! After walking through some of the shops we decide to get some food. Since I’m a big, and new, fan of Harry Potter I’ve been really wanting to eat at Three Broomsticks. The line wasn’t bad at all, so we hardly waited for food. I thought this was a sit down restaurant, but it is not. It’s a quick service restaurant, so you go order your food and then proceed to pick it up yourself. I kind of felt that ruined my experience a little. So Chris ended up ordering the Lemon Herb Roast Chicken Platter and I had the Shepard’s Pie with Garden Salad. The chicken platter came with this huge piece of chicken, corn on the cob, and roasted potatoes. Chris’s review was “it was a mess!” I think it was chicken juice but it was soggy and wet. It made a huge mess. The potatoes were underneath the chicken so those were soggy as well. The corn was honestly nothing special, but that may be because we are parmesan people! As for the Shepard’s Pie, it didn’t taste like Shepard’s Pie to me. It kinda of tasted like chili. I was not a fan so I ended up just eating the mashed potatoes that were on top. The Garden Salad on the other hand was pretty good! The dressing was like a mix between ranch and ceasar dressing. I was a big fan of that!

After we ate, we went down the never ending escelators. We really wanted to go on Transformers: The Ride-3D. So we ended up being really disappointed when we found out it was closed. While we were trying to figure out what to do next, a freaking raptor came out! I love dinosaurs! The Raptor Encounter is a fun little show where you can take a picture with a raptor! How awesome is that?

We purposely skipped the Jurassic Park ride because the last time we went out in I am pretty sure we were submerged under water. We were drenched! The weather was on and off chilly outside so I did not want to risk getting sick. Especially since my immune system has not been too great lately. After we got to hang out with the raptor, we journeyed up the many escalators! Here is a photo of the amazing view!

Last, but certainly not least, we went on the Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride! I think this is one of our favorite rides. It so much fun and I love the shop afterwards. I want a fluffy unicorn so bad! But then again, I want everything. Chris really wanted another donut from Springfield. They are only five dollars and the chocolate one is delicious. After we picked that up we decided that it was time to head out. The wait times were long and it was warming up. Of course, after I saw there was a Karl Strauss at Universal City Walk I knew we had to go! This is one of my favorite breweries. I had the Aurora Hoppyalis and Chris had the Big Barrel IPA. It was Happy Hour too, so we paid less than $10 for both! What good timing we have.

After Karl Strauss, we started walking to the car. Then we spotted Voodoo Doughnuts. We have never had Voodoo Doughnuts before so we had to stop in. I ended up having a “Triple Chocolate Penetration.” Which is a chocolate cake doughnut with chocolate frosting and Cocoa Puffs. Thats one thing you will love about me. I am a chocolate lover! Chris got the “Oh Captain, My Captain.” Which is a doughnut with vanilla frosting and Captain Crunch!

This day was so much fun with Chris. I had a blast. After this we ended up heading to Citadel Outlets. We did a little shopping then came home. It was overall a good day. Chris and I love theme parks, so it’s awesome that we have passes to most of them in So Cal! Thank you for reading my post. I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have enjoyed writing it. I can’t wait to share my next adventure with you. Please follow my Instagram @adventurewithleslie if you haven’t already and I now have a Facebook page to follow as well to keep you updated with everything that I am up to!

Plant Nite

Plant Nite

Have you ever heard of Paint Nite? If not, it is an awesome event where you pay for a ticket, they equip you with all the supplies necessary to paint the painting you selected, then teach you how to paint it! Chris and I did this about a year ago and LOVED it. It is usually held at a local restaurant or bar. Not too long ago I received an email promoting Plant Nite. I was immidiately interested. Especially with a 30% off coupon! (Use the code PLANTS30) Now Plant Nite is the same idea, but instead of a painting, you build a terrarium. Now let me tell you a secret. Brittany, my cousin who is also my best friend, love terrariums! This event is perfect for the two of us. The event was held at Great Society Cider & Mead. I have never had cider before so this was even more exciting for me. I love trying new things. Brittany and I show up just in time for happy hour! I honestly wish I knew what we ordered because we loved it all. We attended this event a few weeks ago before my thought of a blog was starting to become a legit goal. There is one I was able to remember based off their website which is the Tieton Apricot Cider which was delicious! We also had the Garlic Parmesan Fries which I highly recommend to anyone and everyone. So after we finished eating, we began to start with our terrariums. We started with pet rocks. I have no idea why, but we painted rocks to look like lady bugs. I did not put mine in my finished terrarium. After the pet rock, we moved on to filling our terrarium with soil. Then we got to chose our succulent plants. I was really looking forward to this. I love succulent plants. One day, when Chris and I buy our big house, I am going to decorate it with succulents everywhere! After we plant those we move onto rocks, then moss, then more rocks. Lastly, the greatest addition to our terrariums, DINOSAURS! I picked a stegosaurus and Brittany picked a brachiosaurus. Our finished terrariums are beautiful. They say that succulents are great for those who kill plants because they are difficult to kill. I have faith she keeps this one alive! Chris is helping me big time by giving my terrarium the perfect amount of water every few days! Not only are these terrariums awesome, but so was the experience. I recommend this to anyone who doesn’t mind getting their hands a little dirty.  I absolutely love Brittany and the time I get with her. I truly mean it when I say she is my best friend. I cannot wait until we try something else new!

Breakfast at Disneyland!

Breakfast at Disneyland!

So this was my first time having breakfast at Disneyland and I have to say, it was a pretty cool experience. We went to celebrate my mother’s birthday. A little background, my mother died when I was 10 of cancer. Even with the few years I got to spend with her, shes incredibly special to me and we were incredibly close. On this day, she would have been 60 years old! Every year, on significant days that have to do with my mother, I do something I know she would have liked to do. My mother, before I was born, worked for Disney. I grew up going to Disneyland all the time! So today we decided to go to Carnation Cafe. Not exactly Goofy’s Kitchen, but this was in our price range. I was so happy to be able to go with my boyfriend Chris, my brother’s girlfriend Jessy, and my niece Sophia. The experience was awesome. Our waiter was helpful and even the older gentleman cleaning tables was magical! We had awesome conversation with him, but I wish I recalled his name. I had the All American Breakfast and boy was it good! Jessy had the Mickey shaped waffle, and Chris had the Apple Pancakes, which sure did fill him up! Sophia is a pretty picky eater so she had some eggs. I was so excited to go to Disneyland, especially with my niece, now old enough to go on rides. So we decided to stay and go on a couple. We went on Snow White’s Scary Adventure and Pinocchio’s Daring Journey. Sophia definitely hated both. I guess I didn’t realize how scary they were! After those two rides, we all stared to get tired. The heat didn’t help either. We decided to call it a day. When we all got home, all we wanted to do was take a nap. Below are just a couple photos from our morning at Disneyland! I promise I will get better at taking photos and giving more details. This is all very new to me and I am trying to form new habits. Thank you for reading. See you soon!
